Training Fund Now Open for Applications

Members of HFYFC have little to stop them becoming trained, skilled & efficient
now that the training programme supported by the Prince’s Countryside Fund is
now open for applications by members who can apply for financial support to
cover training that will support them in a rurally based career. Over the next
2-1/2 years the Federation aims to distribute £30 000 directly to members to
advance their skill set and efficiency in their employment. HFYFC Management
Chairman, Matt Price commented “We are obviously extremely grateful for the
support from the Prince’s Countryside Fund, without their support this project
wouldn’t of been possible. According to figure released by the HSE last year
agriculture remains one of the most dangerous industries to work in, we hope
that this training will assist members to operate more safely and prevent them
from becoming another statistic.”

The project will award individuals grants to cover up to 70% of training costs up
to a maximum of £300 awarded to the applicant. The fund will support a wide
variety of hands on and vocational skills, from operator competence certification,
trailer and HGV licence training as well as office based skills such as IT training,
book keeping and cash flow planning to help members keep on top of the
requirements of running a business.
