19 teams of pairs and one single competitor from 6 Clubs in Herefordshire battled against severe weather conditions and created a tremendous visual spectacle of young people putting their hedgelaying skills into action at the Annual County Hedging Match on Sunday 26th January. The match moved south of the county to Chanstone Court, Vowchurch, HR2 0QE hosted by kind permission of Mr David Parker and Miss Tilly Parker and sponsored for the second consecutive year by Hereford Mower Services.
All ages were competing, with one of the youngest teams of two members coming from Craswall YFC - Ellie Layton and Emily Williams - competing up against the boys in the aided class and came away with a well deserved 1st place.
Overall Craswall YFC dominated the prize cards, enabling them to take home the Agricultural Valuers Association Trophy for the Club gaining the highest marks in all classes and the Pencombe Agricultural Society Cup for the Club gaining the highest marks in Classes 2 and 3
